Attention Artist or Collectors!!
Do you have artwork that you would like to have copied or make into limited editions?
Are you afraid that with conventional printing methods that the requirements of buying in runs of 100+ will be too expensive and leave you with many unwanted copies?
Are you worried that the color exactness will vary from each additional run?
Wouldn’t you prefer to buy only the amount of prints for each image that you desire and be able to afford to have more than one image reproduced at the same time and at the times that you need them?
Well, I am the answer to your problems. I can offer you prints at an affordable rate with true exact color with high resolution in any amount that you wish to order. If you need only 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 prints, or 10 – 20, or any amount what so ever I can give you that with the Giclée method. If you read my “Home” page that describes what a Giclée is then you will understand the quality that is ensured with these prints. And the colors are exactly the same with each order. Plus, my inks are UV rated and have an archival rating of 200 years.
Think of the convenience of ordering only the amount of copies that you want and when you want them. All you will ever have to do is to e-mail me or call me by phone and place your order. In most cases I will be able to begin making your prints within 24 - 48 hours and return them to you within 4 - 5 working days, depending on the quantity ordered and method of shipping.

I can send you a sample of these papers and canvases. I can also enlarge or reduce the size of your image with no loss in resolution quality. I have the capabilities of making Paper Print copies to a width of 34” to what ever length you desire with a 1 inch border. I am presently looking into some 42” widths and still need to find the quality that I desire. For canvas I give a 2” border, so a maximum of 39” is my largest availability for Level 1 canvas prints. Level 2 canvas prints can be made to make images from 40” up to 48” in width. However, there is a price difference for the extra large sizes as the larger media is more expensive. The Photo Print papers have a maximum of 40” in width with a 1 inch border.
What do you need to make an order?
The first thing that you need to do is to download the required forms, fill them out and e-mail them to me or post them through traditional mail methods. Second, you will need to have a digital scan made of your work at 200 D.P.I. made to size and in ADOBE RGB only!! Have this transferred to a CD as a “Tiff” file, and sent to me. If you are not able to have a scan made, then, send me a 35mm slide or a 4x5 transparency and I will make a scan from that. There is a charge of $20.00 for each scan. Remember that the quality of your print will only be as good as the scan or the slide that you send to me, so make sure that you are satisfied with your copied scan or slide before sending it to me. Once I have processed the scanned image through my programs I can begin printing.
What is the turn around time?
In all cases this is determined by the size of the order; the larger the order the longer it takes to complete the printing process. Also, if I have to make a scan for you from a slide, that will take 2 working days to process. But, most cases the average order of 10 - 50 prints (depending on the printed image size) will generally have a turn around time of 2 - 3 days and under standard UPS ground mailing 4 - 5 days from the day it is shipped out. Other methods can be used to ship work for an extra fee. I will contact you and let you know the different costs for shipping your work before I start to print. I will alert you when the order has been shipped and give you a tracking number to follow it.
What are the costs?
First, we have already established that the cost of making a scan from a slide is $20.00.
Second, there is a processing fee of $10.00 per order of five individual images or less. For orders over five is the fee is $ .50 for each order. So to clarify, 5 or less is $10.00; 6 images would be at $ .50 each so that would be a total of 3.00. An order of 20 images would be $10.00. Now, this is a one time fee. Once an image has been processed there are no further processing fees for that image on any re-orders. The fees are only for the initial processing for an image.
Third, are the printing costs for each of the different paper types and canvas. I charge by the square inch of the printed image, borders are not included in cost; there is no charge for standard borders. I give discounts for multiple prints of the same image. I‘ve outlined these costs below.

Strategies for Selling Prints in Regards to Your Order
When thinking about selling prints you need to be aware of the two categories of prints; Open Editions and Limited Editions.
Open Editions are prints that are made for the more economical selling of your work. They are signed but not numbered and printed on a lesser quality of paper. For this type of print I offer the Aquarella and the Sahara Fine Arts papers. Their economical prices allow you to sell them for less and there by broadening your market.
Limited Editions are the more expensive prints that are accompanied with a “Certificate of Authenticity” signed by you. This helps to attract the buyer that normally may not purchase an expensive work of art. It definitely catches the eye of the collector that views your work as an investment. I can print these for you on good card stock for $1.00 each. Limited Editions are printed on high quality paper such as the Hahnemühle and the Somerset Velvet. They are also signed and numbered. What makes the Limited Edition more expensive is that you are only selling a limited amount per edition. Where in the Open Edition there are no limits to how many you print or sell.
Limited Editions traditionally run in the realm of 200 to 250. Naturally the smaller the edition the more value placed on the print. Again, order only what you need as you need them. Also, the last few prints of an edition are generally more expensive than the rest, because they are now rare. You want to keep a good account of who your clients are and always alert them when you are nearing the end of your run. They not only appreciate this for the opportunity to buy, but also to know that their investment was a good one.
Once your edition is sold out it is a good idea to wait a while before starting a second edition. Second editions are not considered to hold the same value as the first. But you can offset that by offering an even smaller run of, maybe, 100 - 150 copies. This strategy allows you to make that run, even more, rare. You can do this with each additional run that you make should your work be in that much demand.
Signing and numbering your prints is done in the following manner. Along the bottom border beginning on the left side you will write the prints “number” in the edition and if it is other than the first editions, then, you will need to include that info as well. A first edition would look like this, “1/200 L.E.”. The # 1 is the number of the print out of 200 copies. The “L.E.” stands for Limited edition. This is how a Second edition print would be numbered,” 1/150 2nd Ed ”.
Next in the middle of the bottom border you will put the “title” of the work and, if asked or desired, any added words to the buyer, this adds a more personal touch. It would look like this, “At the Fountain” - ‘printed especially for Ed and Marylyn Marsh’ or perhaps ‘To Ed & Marylyn with Affection’. You get the idea.
Lastly, in the right corner of your prints border you will “date” and “sign” your name. All of this is traditionally done in pencil, because ink from a pen can damage the paper. Also, it is a good idea not to show a signature in the print itself. Too many signatures are confusing and also imply the idea that having made the print was an after thought, which could, psychologically, turn buyers away. So scan or photograph your work before you sign the original.
Another idea to consider in Limited Editions is to “embellish” the print with additional drawing or painting. This will add to its uniqueness. This especially a good idea with canvas prints. Say that you are thinking of creating a series in a painting, but painting the same beginnings over and over again is tedious and takes a long in time. By producing copies of the painting at a certain level of completion and then continue to work into them, making them into “one of a kind” works of art.
Note Cards
|
I also offer the service of printing note cards of your work. I produce 4” x 5” cards on quality white stock. On the front is your image, inside it is blank, the back has the title, the date of the work with the copyright symbol, your name as the artist and either your website or e-mail address which ever you prefer. I sell these in quantities of 25, per image, for $40.00 and mail them to you in a box. Note cards generally sell for $4 - $6 each or in sets of 5 for $20 - $30. Of course what you sell them for is up to you and the demand.

Your Printer’s Integrity
I will not print anyone’s artwork and sell it on the side without their knowledge; this is simply ludicrous and business suicide. I would never print someone else’s art or photography without client approval. The risks are tremendous and it is a sure way to be sued and lose! Not to mention it is unethical. I am not in business to scam artists!! You have my word of honor, as assurance, that I will honor your creative rights. After all I am an artist too and I fear for the same when posting my work on the web. It may be a good idea to also put a © and date on your prints next to your name when you sign them.
